Vincent could have looked out and he did. But he doesn't question the judgement; at the end of the day, it's best they make it back to the Convoy and he find another ride to go... out.

At least the straight line back is going to give him a chance to find another vehicle, even if it ends up being his own. One way or another, there will be avians that are very sorry to have continued their assault.
