[When he wakes up, the only sense of surprise Apophis feels despite his last memory is being beheaded is a vague notion of 'Already'?
His body feels surprisingly light and well-rested when he rolls to the side and stands up, not at all like the excruciating, painful mess that usually comes with being revived. No being covered in his own blood, gore or viscera, either. Had Thoth a hand in that, thinking it'd soften him up? Or was it just a pervert game, offering fake solace only for the other shoe to drop? Eh. Whatever. It's not as if Apophis is going to care either way.
All this means is that it's just going to be another round of the same old game.

Oh brother. [His voice is a low, unconcerned drawl as the soles of his soft shoes scuff casually over the lines of the summoning circle. Apophis takes a look at it and promptly decides that he can't read that chicken scratch. Which means he's gotta do it the old-fashioned way.]

Is it just me, or is whatever's brewing up there outside a bad sign?
[It's a rhetorical question as he eyes the rapidly approaching storm front and the black dots that seem to be dancing up in the air in front of it. Were they birds? Monsters? Planes? A bunch of cloned Superheroes?
Whatever it was, it seemed like bad news. Which is almost a relief, since investigating the Diner had brought him preciously little so far - some real nice horror cabinet vibes aside.
Apophis leans forward and uses his sleeve to wipe the dirt off the window, squinting his eyes in an attempt to discern the dancing shapes from the dark clouds behind them. Monster birds, huh? Maybe that's what got his would-be rendezvous. He sh-

[There's a young man in a weird (and very roughened up looking) Ancient Egyptian outfit flagging you down, standing in between a mess of rubble that'll turn out to be actually pieces of broken apart animals if you come close enough. They look like shattered statues, but there is also something sinister attached to them, as if they're just waiting to come alive the moment they're fully assembled. By contrast, there's a light gilded war chariot behind them.]
