With his own coffee now prepared, Ren brings the cup around the other side of the bar and places it in front of the chair next to Akechi. He then slides into the chair, sitting sideways to face him.
“I really missed this,” he says, and a small beat of sorrow pulses out from his heart, then quickly dissipates. He breathes out a quiet laugh and turns his gaze to the cup in front of him. It’s still probably too hot to drink, so he’ll wait another moment to try a sip.
