Levi severely underestimates how badly Edward wants to be able to see again. If a hideous mutation is part of that, then that's just the price he pays.

"What happens if you stay in one place too long?" That is a concern, along with another, more immediate one. "How are you traveling?"

Because if he's going to be stuck here, Edward needs to figure that out.
