He accepts it back, shoving it back where he'd found it, then returns to his sorting through old drawers. A delighted noise leaves him when he finds what looks like a roll of medical tape, but it disintegrates slightly to his touch; dry-rotted.
"Eugh," he grunts, tossing it back and digging deeper into the drawer, where a roll of gauze seems to be in somewhat useable condition if he tosses the outermost layer. He shrugs and throws that in his pack.
"Way ahead of you," he replies, "Keep any spent casing you find in case we get desperate. My pop taught me how to refill them. The casings are the hardest part to reproduce, so it'll save you some time."
