[ Blake looks baffled for about two seconds before her expression drops, sheer exasperation laying her ears flat. ]

I was warned this might happen. Someone I met-- he said he knew someone that turned up here, but they were from a few years in the past. Or he was from a few years in their future.

[ And she hadn't thought that it might happen to her, but here they are. Ruby must be a month or so ahead or her, which isn't too bad of a separation, she guesses. ]

The last thing we did-- from my perspective, I mean-- is escape that town with all the Apathy. We were on the trailer riding out of there, and I guess I fell asleep. We must have been nearly to Argus, but I woke up here instead.

[ Examining the alligator thing can wait. Blake stands, and finds a little smile. ]
