A lot of things about Azathoth are very implicitly mentioned in the game but most of all it does allude to the fact that there is a certain mystery around him! He's not your average persona I can say that much.

So Maruki would also sense something terribly ominous in John's cognition but he wouldn't be able to track why exactly cause...my boy is going to come out as a newbie. He just got picked up on the day when he was supposed to go his true villain route :((
