Hello all prospective Drifters, and thank you for taking a look at Route 666! Our third TDM is going up on MAY 15th our Reserves open on MAY 20th and Applications open on the May 25th through the 31st!

And in the meanwhile, this post is for potential players to introduce themselves and characters they’re thinking of playing! Get excited, get planning with other folks, talk about potential monsters you’re interested in, etc! We are also opening this up for current players to post ATPs to draw in some new castmates and the like!

ATP: Buffyverse!

Current cast: Just Faith here, LCW-ing.
Wanted: Buffy Any and all castmates would be cool, for sure! The whole reason I came to R666 is because it was such a cool concept for a game and it meshed so well with Buffyverse tonally that I knew it would be a good time. Obviously Buffy some castmates would have a more fun dynamic with Faith because of shared history, and I know Buffy some are more popular than others to begin with, but Buffy anybody would be cool.

Any of the OG Scooby gang, like Buffy it would be cool to throw her at a Giles because I know they kinda get a second chance in the comics, or maybe Buffy Obviously a Wesley would be fun as well just because their dynamic in Angel S4 was great, also Buffy Spike and Faith had a neat vibe and I know everybody loves that dude, or, I dunno, a Buffy hell, even somebody Faith never met- it'd still be fun to get more faces from the canon. PLS BRING ME A BUFFY

Assorted About: Faith's a LCW, and lately she's been turning into a little bit of a zombie corpse girl, possibly with detachable head. She's not a fan. At least she's learning some practical skills and has (somehow) made some friends, but damn she'd love to see a familiar face.

Okay maybe she wouldn't like to see all of them She wouldn't enjoy a Buffy as much as I would but still.

Character Info: Here. TLDR: Human assassin from fantasy world that specializes in killing supremacist mage cultists, gets captured/imprisoned/tortured by them and a demon shoved into his body. Said demon is Just A Lil Guy ™ and doesn't wanna be there, either. Is broken out for a job killing some old gods and copes by drinking excessive amounts of coffee and brooding in a pantry.

Monster Ideas: I'm definitely looking at some kind of harpy situation. Infernal is pick 2 although he already has a lot of those qualities.
Vehicle Ideas: He will not know how to drive sooooo I dunno.
Game plans: He's a spooky boi so he'll cope just fine. Although I am considering taking him from a 'bad ending' canon point, when I am used to playing him good ending. I just think it might be more fun to have his demon be a little more chaotic coming in. Playing Spite is really fun and always a good time.
Desired CR: If I go 'bad ending', it'll give me more opportunities for character growth, so I would love for his damaged ass to slowly have to learn to trust people and such. With the right CR, I think I could slowly work him closer to his good ending relationship with his other half.

oh look the harpy option summoned a Gale (I'll give him his own post later.) Honestly, as much as I love how well infernal fits Lucanis, harpy for him is just really working for me.

I'm interested to see what the dynamic is like if you test out his bad-ending version on the TDM, especially because I've never played with Extra Chaotic Spite who needs to be reined in and wouldn't immediately be Gale's favorite little student. Probably.

Desired CR: It's hard for him to make friends because he finds it difficult to be vulnerable, but also because he's annoying as fuck, frequently lying or telling embellished stories, or making people uncomfortable. So look forward to torment, I guess?

Character Name: Ren Amamiya aka Joker
Canon: Persona 5 Royal
Character Info: HOO BOY well. Ren here is the game’s protagonist, for starters. He’s a Japanese high school student with a (now overturned) criminal assault conviction, which is a crime for which he was falsely accused. Not cool! So Ren spent a year leading a vigilante group known as the Phantom Thieves in a series of supernatural heists aiming to fix their broken society by changing the hearts of ~rotten adults~ like corrupt politicians and abusive businessmen. Also they fought a god and won. Twice! With the power of friendship and Personas and guns. (And maybe a few delicious pancakes.)

Despite how … questionable … that all might sound, Ren is actually a very very good bean! He has an unflinching sense of justice and a near-bottomless heart. This kid literally ripped his own face off to save another kid he’d just met, and that’s how he got his first Persona.

Oh yeah! He’s also a Wild Card in the world of Persona-users, which means he normally has a somewhat unique ability to use a bunch of different Personas, which makes him a very adaptable fighter. (Won’t be applicable here though, eep.)

He’s also got a slight tendency toward trolling in casual conversation, just to be a funny little guy. His code name is Joker, after all.

PLOTTING!
Monster Ideas: The three I’m planning to list on my app are celestial, demon, and vampire. I think all of those would make for interesting challenges for Ren to face with transformations! Celestial and demon are kinda thematically relevant for his character, and I’m perpetually weak for vampires, so I think any of those would be super fun to play with.

Vehicle Ideas: I’m eyeing a van much like the Monabus he drives around in Mementos, with a Spacious quality.

Game plans: Finding yourself in a weird otherworld is a “day that ends in Y” situation for Persona characters. HOWEVER, Ren’s whole Thing is fighting injustice, and getting yanked somewhere against your will and turned into some kind of monster kinda sounds a lot like injustice that needs to be fought! So he’ll be into investigating the mysteries and fighting off enemies for sure, all while looking for the big final boss behind it all.

I’m also really interested in exploring how a Persona protag handles a weird situation like this WITHOUT his usual arsenal of Personas and various other battle advantages to prop him up.

Also, Ren still owes Akechi a duel. Prepare for these boys to be really Extra about each other.

Desired CR: All of them! From his thread with Akechi on the last TDM, Ren’s already curious about his “”rival””’s friends and associates and totally wants to meet them! Outside of that, Ren is a super helpful guy and is used to juggling like 9 part-time jobs around school and thieving and his social life, so he can get involved basically anywhere doing almost anything. He’ll be looking for new Confidants to bond and/or make deals with, but also just, normal friends? Who enjoy each others’ company without needing some kind of exchange to make it happen? That’d be nice too.

I am very much down for negative CR as well, as long as it’s of some substance and not just seeing who can out-badass each other. Ren’s already Taken on the rival front kthx.

ATP: Fallout 4

Current Cast: Just Danse from 4 in particular, but we also have the Lone Wanderer from Fallout 3, and the Courier, Arcade Gannon and Benny from New Vegas if you enjoy other games in the series!

Wanted: Honestly, I would just love to see anyone else from FO4. My dream would be some fellow synths, especially Nick, but I adore Curie and I'd be squealing and kicking my feet over an X6-88 if anyone plays him. I'm a big sucker for my girl Piper, I'd jump on a MacCready, and I'd be very happy to see a Sole Survivor who's done Danse's companion quest, but really, anyone would be great!

I know Danse can be a tough sell for castmates because he's a jerk to so many of them, but if you like him enough to give him a chance, please consider letting him be awkwardly apologetic at your character on the TDM. He's trying.

Assorted About: Danse is in his post-Blind Betrayal redemption era and he's got werewolf transformation magic compelling him to adopt everyone else from the Falloutverse as pack, so he would be genuinely happy to see almost anyone he knows, up to and including Hancock. Probably. He'll get there.

As other Fallouts have pointed out, this is a much nicer apocalypse than the one back home, all things considered! Except for the turning into monsters. That kind of sucks usually. But now there are five wastelanders In It Together, and they have definitely been bonding over that and becoming a team and not reigniting faction wars or cutting body parts off each other at all. And there are ruins to scavenge for fun things just like at home, and a cool mysterious overarching plot to investigate for perhaps the more detective/journalist/scientist-inclined.

Character Name: Diarmuid Ua Duibhne (Lancer)
Canon: Fate/Zero
Character Info: Greaser-coded ancient Irish hero proves chivalry isn't dead but it is being actively hunted for sport. For the unfamiliar, the Fate/ series is more or less about dickhead modern mages summoning the spirits of legendary figures to battle royale, and Diarmuid here is surprisingly myth-accurate considering the amount of creative liberties it takes elsewhere.

PLOTTING!
Monster Ideas: Aiming for Fairy because I'm really keen on digging into all the ways it relates to him personally, but my backups are Harpy and Unicorn and I'd be thrilled to throw various changes on him temporarily as the situation permits.

Vehicle Ideas: The way I'd be failing this man if I didn't give him something classic, romantic, and fast.

Game plans: Good news! The magic that summoned him into the modern world also gave him enough of a sense of modern technology to drive and use phones, so you don't need to worry about helping grandad function. Bad news: he'll be arriving hot off the press of being lethally unpersoned and so, so angry about it.

Diarmuid is super equipped to cope with the road trip aspect of the game: Fate/'s Heroic Spirits are basically a planetary defense mechanism against apocalyptic threats (that the mages are hijacking...), its iteration of the Fianna operated with the specific intent to protect humanity from gods and monsters during the final transition from the Age of Gods into the Age of Man, and Diarmuid himself is just a ridiculously helpful person! So I'd be excited to let him do what he does best physically while seeing where CR and game developments take him emotionally.

I'm less anticipating body horror around his changes (big "well this might as well happen" energy, lol) than the possibility of them turbocharging some of the existential horrors he's already grappling with. Come with me 🎶 and we'll be 🎶 in a world of exploring the nuances of having your agency, personhood, and ideals compromised while you question the futility of struggling against an imperfect and ultimately painful fate. Jk unless...

If you're not excited to unpack all of that, don't worry! Neither is Diarmuid. Left to his own devices, he'll be doing his best to keep all of his emotions right here and then one day he'll die. Again.

Desired CR: All of it? I'd love to throw him at just about anything, but I've got hearts in my eyes already if you've got someone who'll share his enthusiasm for heroism, combat, the great outdoors, or high risk friendly competition. He's aggressively great-hearted, so he's bound to end up caring about people one way or another, and I'd be delighted for characters who are receptive to that as much as I would be for others who maybe only begrudgingly come around to it lol. Negative CR? I'm open to the possibility, though I'd prefer not to be surprised with it.

Other: At some point I should mention the whole face thing. He's got a magic beauty mark that causes women who look at his face to fall in love with him, which is 1) a major component in his tragic circumstances and 2) strictly opt-in regarding its potential impact on player characters, so I'll definitely have a link with more information on it and a means to do so by the time the tdm rolls around.

Current cast: Akechi (P5R), Akihiko (P3)
Wanted: We already have a potential Ren player, so with that in mind...

P5: Sumi, Maruki, Morgana, Futaba, Haru... tbh, any of the Phantom Thieves would be fantastic, along with Sae, Sojiro, Zenkichi, Sophia... Erina and Toshiro are cool, but my big unicorn would be Guernica from the Tactica DLC, tbh.

P3: Mitsuru, Shinji, the other members of SEES. Personally, I'd love to see Ken, but given the age limit, he'd have to be the Ultimax version. I'd also love to see Chidori or Ryoji.

P4: Naoto and Kanji are big ones for me, but the other Investigation Team characters would be fantastic. I think Yu would be a ton of fun, and subjecting Dojima and Adachi to the road trip and monster transformations could be quite intriguing.

P1/P2: My kingdom for a Jun Kurosu or Reiji Kido, given all the fascinating parallels between them and Akechi. That being said, I adore the P1 and P2 casts and would be happy to see any of them!

Misc: Labrys and Sho from Arena Ultimax would also be a delight. I'm not familiar enough with the Q games to know much about their unique characters, but I do think they'd be interesting here!

Assorted About: Akechi... has been very, very busy just trying to gather clues about their circumstances and the history behind this world. He's worked with Jayce and others to try and connect the dots, and it's the primary thing keeping him sane as he grapples with his ongoing transformation and the lack of agency in his life.

Knives recently tried to kill him, so he's still very much on edge from that. He has a deep vendetta against the Steel Wardens in particular for what he considers deep hypocrisy in their objectives.

Monster Ideas: I'm REALLY liking the idea of Felicia being a Mermaid, but there's comedy value in most of the options available.
Vehicle Ideas: A cute VW Bug with a pink paint job and the Toughness trait. She'll probably turn it into a fishbowl for herself at some point.

A Zamboni has been brought to my attention as a possibility a well. If this is the move, who wants part of their ride turned into a fishbowl?

Game plans: Not only will Felicia break things, she's never even seen a car before and absolutely cannot drive. I need her to hit someone.

Desired CR: Oh gosh, Felicia is good for all sorts of CR. Despite being a maid, she had the training of a bodyguard and can handle most throwing type weapons. She'll need someone to teach her how to drive, but she would also be good at teaching someone how to defend themselves-- better than she is at teaching the Art of Tea, anyway.

Canon: Final Fantasy VII Comp. and Buffy The Vampire Slayer (Supernatural)
Character Info: Cloud is a weeble kind of guy, he's strong headed but strong hearted too. He used to be a loner but has gotten used to being around the people in his life, these days he doesn't like being alone for too long. Maybe three days at most. He has a traumatic past, which has been built up inside him for so long it's inevitable he may have a nervous break down especially with Zack and Sephiroth in game and he can't beat Sephiroth up.

Buffy ... wow where do we start? I see Faith is in game and that means there's going to be some UTAA. Unresolved tension as always. It might even be sexual, because I'm in the belief that Buffy is secretly bisexual she just hasn't explored that yet. But yeah, Buffy's slayer nature is going to make her hate turning into a monster, unless it's something cute or pretty that she doesn't mind turning into. Like an Angel. I plan on making her hate herself and give her something she can't stand. Like a vampire.

(Dean. Ah, Dean is going to hate turning into a monster but he'll be okay too. He'd probably hate being an Angel the most since he sees them as the ultimate dicks. Otherwise he has no castmates and I would love if someone came with him like Cas. I still haven't explored the I love you at the end of the series. I want to explore that. I always knew they were in love.)

PLOTTING!
Monster Ideas: I'm eying all sorts of monsters for these kids. For example Dean would be a minotaur but I'm debating on making him an angel so he hates himself.

Buffy would likely be a fairy, except making her a vampire would make her hate herself even more.

and Cloud? I've considered a lot of things but more than likely a werewolf.

Vehicle Ideas: I'm thinking an RV for Cloud.

A jeep for Buffy.

And Dean isn't getting the impala, which is going to make it seem terrible to him in general but instead he might get a RV or Jeep.

All of them would be tricked out with weapons and the like, not to mention other things as well like food, drinks, first aid, etc etc

Game plans: I honestly have no idea how any of them will react. Dean will likely be happy to be on a roadtrip but at the same time really pissed off about the monster transformations. He'll probably react with anger eventually.

Buffy? is more than likely going to fall into a depression. A long deep depression where her life is as normal as can be in her mind and she'll be fine. I doubt it though. Highly. There's no routine in a roadtrip in her opinion.

Cloud no idea to be honest, I think Cloud is going to try and assimilate the most. It's not something he's considered, the other two have considered turning into monsters. Cloud loves wolves but no idea if he'll hate being a werewolf. The spooky road trip part will speak to his soul. Help him revisit the past and get over his issues with Zack and Sephiroth.


Desired CR: Cloud having a bestfriend besides Tifa would be nice. Him also owning up to love and committing.

Buffy? No idea, I'd love to explore a lesbian relationship with her but besides Faith being her enemy/friend, she's going to need close friends in order to cope. She did well the first time around, so I imagine she'll do well the second time around, dealing with being a monster and dealing with it.

Dean... wow, a bestfriend besides his brother and Castiel would be superb. Something he's never really considered in his life besides a couple people and even then he felt they didn't hold a flame.

Other: I'm all about seeing where the plot goes before setting anything in stone. Hopefully when I apply, I make it into the game and find my way around easily.

Canon: Persona 5 Royal
Character Info: Haru is extremely rich, extremely sweet, loves growing veggies, and is definitely not unhinged and repressed.

Okay okay but really Haru is the heir to this massive space themed fast food franchise. Once upon a time her dad was kinda great but money ruins everything and he got into some fucked up shit. Tries to marry her off to a creepy, isn't Dad of the Year (but still somehow not the worst P5 dad.............................) and then shit just hits the fan.

Everything goes to hell and the game takes a heel turn of dark spoilers if you care about a 5+ old game (omg it's that old??). Haru learns to fight back, develops a backbone, learns how to fight with a giant scythe because why not? and a slightly less cool final persona.

I exist and die on the hill that she was criminally underused (despite being in a game that's like 200 hours to 100%) and her arc was upstaged by the worlds most irritating animal mascot but she's still fantastic. She's also a fantastic driver, the source of this is just trust me. ...trust me.

PLOTTING!
Monster Ideas: Zoanthrope, celestial (unicorn), Swarm (drider) all seem like they could be cool in their own unique way! I'm not entirely sure what I'd lean for the most!
Vehicle Ideas: I would have to think more about this! Maybe like the camper from Strikers idk
Game plans: I'm definitely a go with the flow style rper, but she would def investigate why they've been kidnapped and subjected to this. Time to find God or something

But more than that there's a lot of potential for explanation in being forcibly changed into something. She had a whole thing where she saw the "ideal" cognitive version of herself in her Father's mind and canon never did quite enough with how traumatizing that would be. Finding herself and learning to fight against people who would seek to control and use that was a big part of her arc. So being here would be an interesting chance to explore more of that.
Desired CR: Friends of all type, this girl lasted most her life without any and she was so happy to finally get some. Bring all the friends of any kind!

Character Name: Mitsuru Kirijo
Canon: Persona 3
Character Info: Character trailer. Mitsuru is the head of a stupidly powerful corporation in Japan who happens to be very fond of threatening to execute people.

Mitsuru's life, like P3, is just tragedy.png the life except she never actually seems to realize that her entire life has been a trashfire. She was happily a childhood experiment and then later basically utilized as a weapon by her dad (who doesn't actually suck! kind...of???) to clean up the messes their company created. Despite being a literal child she decided it was her life's mission to fix the massive problems caused by her slightly insane grandfather.

Being a child she sort of sucked at that. Who would have guessed? But damn if she doesn't give it her all.

That's her in a nutshell: gives it her all even if it leaves little for herself. She's the perfect student, an amazing Persona user, an amazing fencer, not too bad with electronics, A+ for interacting with adults! But...

Spend 5 minutes with her in a social situation and you may notice she's got like negative social skills. Take her off a script and it's just not it.

Monster Ideas: Merrow seems like it could be fun with potential for a lot of confusion with the singing voice eventually haha ngl vampire also seems like it would be fitting, be something she hates, and be great. Maybe naga?
Vehicle Ideas: Her bike maybe or something like that?
Game plans: Depending on what monster is settled on I could see her becoming pretty depressed and withdrawing due to it. Mitsuru's entire life has revolved around having her agency taken away but she never fully seems to get that. Like duty just blinds her even when she does decide to do more things "for herself" so grappling more with that would be appealing.

HELLO AGAIN! Tbh, I'd love either Mitsuru or Haru, as either has so much potential for interesting interactions. Would definitely be down to thread with either, because on one hand, Akechi and Haru have SO MUCH unresolved baggage, and on the other hand, I think aspects of Akechi would probably evoke some weird blend of Ken and Strega...

Akechi being like "Mitsuru Kirijo is a Persona user???" would be funny, too. Akihiko might've brought it up in passing (I'd have to check), but hearing is one thing. Seeing is another. xD
