Ren’s so happy to know Akechi’s made some friends here c: Akechi has been through a lot and Ren knows it. The game spends a good deal of time highlighting how they’re foils for each other as well as the fact that Ren got a lot of advantages Akechi didn’t, and Ren’s pretty aware of all of that. He’s also just the kinda guy who wants to encourage people to be their best selves, and he knows his bonds with people were really crucial for him personally, so he definitely wants Akechi to have bonds and friends too.
