Hello all prospective Drifters, and thank you for taking a look at Route 666! Our second TDM is going up on MARCH 15th/16th our Reserves open on MARCH 20th and Applications open on the March 25th through the 31st!

And in the meanwhile, this post is for potential players to introduce themselves and characters they’re thinking of playing! Get excited, get planning with other folks, talk about potential monsters you’re interested in, etc! We are also opening this up for current players to post ATPs to draw in some new castmates and the like!

Character Name: Vash the Stampede
Canon: Trigun Stampede
Character Info: You know that meme of "looks like a cinnamon roll/could actually kill you" vs "looks like they could kill you/actually a cinnamon roll"? Vash is the fusion of these extremes into "looks like a cinnamon roll, could easily kill you, is a cinnamon roll anyway". He's a fun contradiction of expert gunslinger who is nonetheless an extreme pacifist, with a mountain of survivor guilt for a spaceship crash his brother caused 150 years ago that stranded all the humans on an nigh-unlivable desert planet, so the whole spooky roadtrip situation will be, uh. Very Uncomfortably Familiar in some ways.

Monster Ideas: Fae!! Plant speech/magic and nature affinity because HELLO, and I'm also delighted by the notion of the oath and formality compulsions, the need to be invited to buildings, and perhaps some butterfly wings for The Aesthetic

Vehicle Ideas: Motorcycle that zooms so fast!!!

Game plans: Vash is pretty used to being on the road and making do with minimal supplies, so he's mostly going to be trying to look out for other people, and also share what little he has because it's how he do lol. He's also going to have an interesting time with the whole concept of people "becoming monsters"... he's been hiding the fact that he's not human while living adjacent to them for 150+ years, so he will have some complicated feelings about that!

Desired CR: - Kindhearted idealists and optimists
- Wolfwood types who are kind at heart but have been burned by life and grown cynical
- Ppl with sibling baggage in general, especially of the traumatic variety
- People who desperately need someone to see the best in them despite all evidence to the contrary
- People who will get heartburn about his constant self-sacrificing

Soooo excited for John and Vash to learn each other's "secret nonhuman" deal and have a long talk about humanity. John will inevitably need a pep talk from someone who can fully comprehend just how dangerous he is and chooses to trust him anyway.

Also: fully expect Vash to give him constant heartburn with the self-sacrificing tbh

yesssssss i want this so much. i am so excited for vash to get an opportunity to share in his loneliness w someone. it's going to be so intense and so good. he will absolutely believe in john's potential for good no matter what, even if he fucks up and gives in to his more monstrous instincts

Vash, I present to you a traumatized, jaded eighteen year old with a bodycount who was also a severe victim of circumstance, a pawn of a malevolent god and his shitty father (even if he approached said shitty father), and who is also strangely self-sacrificing...

I have no idea how these two would gel, but something about it seems both amusing and intriguing.

Apollo here is a living lie detector if you're interested in someone being a bit sus about Vash! He can't catch lies by omission, but direct lies would catch his attention pretty quickly.

and he might also be annoyed that Vash is so goddamn tall. leave some height for the rest of us

Zero and Vash will be interesting. He’s 300+ and not human either and it will be interesting to see how their world views connect. He’ll likely be drawn to him because that deep pacifism will remind him of X who is the same way in some aspects.

VASH THE STAMPEDE YEAA

I would love to do a potential CR where Maruki and Vash!! Oh man maruki's idealism is like through the roof to the point that its very very unhealthy. he went into counselling first where he helps people with their problems and is generally a very kindhearted man but like the mess is immense.

he doesn't want pain and suffering at all periodt and while canonically he manages to create a new reality where everyone's trauma is undone- this Maruki JUST awakened to that power hehe

i think he and vash could get along really well :3
