JANUARY TDM/EVENT

The storm drives the Convoy to the very summit of the mountains, before hitting a blinding pitch. The wind howls and drives snow in a way that promises to freeze everything… And there’s also a twist of smoke in the air, to further blind everything.

There’s one thing visible through the storm: a massive fortress clinging to the side of the mountain. The Convoy pulls up into the shelter. It seems this will be the best place to wait out the weather, even if the storm lasts for weeks.

It’s a cold welcome for new arrivals. The garage offers scant protection from the elements, and a winter storm rages outside. Snow, lighting, and thunder all blend together and do their best to break the windows and doors of the structure.

The storm itself shows no signs of abating, at least until several days have passed. So it’s up to the new arrivals to figure out how to survive the storm, find better shelter… And weather the strange changes foisted onto them.

01: SUMMONING CIRCLE

New Drifters arrive to a cold and half frozen garage, almost swallowed up by snow drifts. The Convoy is just visible through sheets of snow falling from the skies, and it is parked in the shelter of a nearby fortress. Getting out of the garage and reaching the fortress will take some work, though.

Starting with digging out through the snow. At least there’s a shovel or two inside the garage and the gas station. But digging through the snow is still cold work, and it’s imperative to duck back in the garage and find ways to warm up.

There’s still a small fire burning in the corner of the garage, near the summoning circle. It curiously doesn’t seem to need fuel to keep burning… Though throwing more on it will certainly increase the heat of the flames. Be advised that the fire will also burn clothing and flesh if a Drifter gets too close to it.
02: FORTRESS
The abandoned fortress offers some reprieve from the elements… But the prior battles have found a way to seep into the stones. Ice and Fire both have an effect on the surroundings.
+FIRE Condition: Arcane lava is flowing through the foundations and seeping up through the stones of the building. This is especially clear in the kitchen and dining hall. It may be toasty to the touch, but it also threatens to set things aflame; objects and people alike. Drifters weak to fire will suffer from the increased temperatures.
+ICE Condition: The extremes of the fortress are freezing over in enchanted ice, leaving only the main hall and kitchen with any heat. Drifters who lack ice affinity risk frost bite and hypothermia while exploring the other areas of Bastion. Direct contact with the ice also carries a risk of encasing the limb or the entire Drifter in ice. Might need some help getting chipped out.

In the midst of all this, there are still rooms and beds available for those who want a change of pace from the convoy, or bedrolls for those who want to camp out in the main hall.
03: START UP
After digging out, one can see that there are various cars surrounding the garage. Some of them parked directly outside and sheltered from the worst of the storm. But a few are further out, and will also need to be dug out of the snow.

There’s also a certain connection between different newcomers and cars. Something that suggests a particular vehicle is theirs, backed up by possessing the key to that vehicle. The key to the vehicle may already be in the ignition, on the dashboard… It may have even been on their person, ever since they woke up in that garage. Either way, Drifters have the keys to the vehicle now.

…But there’s a few rough edges on these vehicles. Flat tires, cracked windows and mirrors, maybe some stuck doors and locks; all of them the sort of thing that requires two pairs of hands and supplies. The garage can take care of the supplies… Now it’s just a matter of finding some extra hands.
04: WILD ELEMENTS
Even when taking shelter in the fortress, the storms from outside have a way of seeping through the bricks. And trying to take root inside any Drifters. Cold mists and winds seep into the castle, along with fire traveling across the floors and lightning crashing against the roof.

Drifters exposed to extreme elements will find those same elements seeping into their blood.

Teeth also grow along portions of the walls in long fangs, ready to snag at any newcomers. Drawing blood on those teeth can result in changes in the new arrivals… As well as pulling a monster out of the hallway to try and draw more blood.

These monsters frequently manifest as:
+Gyuki, a spider and bull demon fusion.
+YinYang, a Frankenstein abomination
+And Malzeno, a strange eldritch dragon.
05: FUEL PUMPS
The fortress also holds a network of pipes leading through the halls and connecting to the gas station. Text from the Convoy asks for at least a few Drifters to follow the pipes to their source, and activate them. Following those pipes leads to a chamber in the base of the fortress, with basins full of liquid.

Glowing and quicksilver liquid, at that. Liquid that looks like it could have been poured straight out of the moon. An inscription on the tanks reads “Moonshard fuel refinement” while a stack of papers details the various attempts to distill moonshards into an energy usable by humans without mutating them. It seems they’ve mostly succeeded with this attempt: once the valves are turned on, the fuel can be pumped into the Convoy and top off almost depleted fuel tanks.

But there is still a risk. Coming into contact with the fuel can instill a sudden, ravenous hunger and push new changes to the front. Prolonged exposure activates all traits at once, and will only revert the person when another monster has been hunted down, and their energy absorbed.
06: IF THESE WALLS COULD TALK
The walls of Bastion reach an impressive 20 feet up and stretch for long distances… And have Husks merged into them, often in the hallways and occasionally in the rooms. The Husks clearly belong to either the Silver Tear or the Steel Wardens, given the insignias on them. Many of them are locked together, frozen in a fight. And their last words and thoughts are written on the walls in gold and silver script.

Most of the words are frantic, about defending the moon shards from heretics or freeing the moon shards from confinement. But if any of the words are read aloud, the Husks react by merging together and spawning a berserk heavy tank/tankceratops. Or a large Burner type monster. OR a dragon dinosaur with exploding, punching fists. Drifters may also get caught up in the monster changes, and fuse their own monster forms together!
07: MONSTER FUSE
An element saturation isn’t the only strange thing in the fortress. Anyone who makes contact with the fortress stones will find themselves building a resonance with a fellow Drifter. This grows stronger the more time they spend in the fortress.

Until finally the bond solidifies on the next change the Drifters go through and hits a fever pitch. The next threat they encounter WILL force a transformation. When that happens, their next change fuses their two monster forms together into something new.

Their fusion form is a combination of two Drifter’s traits. It is also twice the size it would normally be, and is well suited to taking on any giant sized monsters. It can even give Drifters a brief insight into the memories of their partner, as the fusion takes place.

When this happens, both Drifters can switch control over their merged form. Those with greater synchronism will have more control, while those who squabble and fight will find that their monster form becomes more feral and savage. This fusion lasts until the threat abates: when that happens, the fusion breaks apart, and Drifters return to their prior state.
08: STORM CALL
There’s something outside that isn’t just the storm; it calls out in a howl that can make the blood run cold, and also pulls at one’s feet. Until it hits a point where the Bastion doesn’t feel like a restful place. Drifters who hear the storm call need to step outside and find the source; the storm itself isn’t particular on if they search on their own feet, or behind some wheels.

Drifters who travel on their own feet will swiftly be overwhelmed by the storm, and a moon warp hiding in the snow, and forced to transform. It doesn’t help that there’s wild saber-tooth Barioth wyverns prowling the wilds and ready to pounce.

Being inside a vehicle helps to shield them from the worst of the storm and the changes, and also gives Drifters more traversal options:
Tough cars are capable of wading through even the deepest snow without getting bogged down, as well as towing any stricken or stuck vehicles out of the drifts.
Fast vehicles can follow rivers of fire and lava that move through the wilds, without burning up due to prolonged exposure.

Eventually Drifters will find their way towards the summit of the mountain, and the discovery waiting beyond.
09: MONSTER CHANGES
Between the weird fuel, the teeth in the fortress, and hostile elements trying to force changes, new arrivals can quickly find their humanity getting worn away and new monster transformations taking place.
With the cold weather and regal structures, the environment calls out to Undead. As long as the elements rage, all Undead traits are available and also:
+Warm Blood: Undead can easily track living bodies through the wilds and the fortress, sensing the warmth of their blood in contrast to the storm.
+Rivalry: Tends to form rivalry with other Undead monsters, becoming territorial and protective of potential food sources.
+Ice Affinity: Undead find themselves better preserved by the cold and thriving in it, energized and strengthened by the snow, and even taking on glowing blue veins and eyes.
+Fire Fear: The presence of fire inspires aversion, and even terror and need to flee from it. Smaller flames like candles provoke unease, larger flames like a bonfire result in more panic.
+Holy Symbols: Presence of Steel Warden symbols (a sword piercing moon) can cause unease in Undead, and even repel them a location.
+Snow Shift: Exposure to snow forces the Undead into a more bestial form. This could resemble a bat, wolf, or deer/horse/bull.
10: FROZEN HEART
At the summit of the mountains is a collection of freakishly tall and twisted trees. In their branches is a collection of frozen hearts growing like strange fruit. And further up is a massive object that looks like a deer skull with branching antlers. The ice storm flows from its eyes and mouth… And it shows no signs of ceasing without destroying the skull.

The frozen hearts are giving off a cold aura that freezes anything that doesn’t resist ice. Drifters will need to neutralize the hearts to dispel the cold aura. The hearts can be melted by fire, shot down with ranged weapons, magic, etc. When burned, the hearts give off a smoke that causes a terrible hunger and need to hunt in anyone who inhales it. Shattered heart shards also rain down and embed themselves in Drifters, and cause a berserk fury in those they cut.

But with each felled heart the barrier of the skull weakens, as does the storm. When the last of the frozen hearts falls, the storm skull fractures and breaks apart like brittle ice. Drifters can deliver the finishing blows, ending the storm in the process. After that, the way down the mountain becomes clear, and the Convoy may continue down without worry.
MICRO ENCOUNTERS:

PLEASE NOTE! These are small bits of set dressing for players to include in threads if they wish, rather than full fledged prompts or events. You may handwave your exploration of these areas, or thread them out.

Fortress Library: Books and screens seem to have fused together. Assorted data about monsters is on display here; everything from hunting strategy to contradicting praise of their strength. (Read: all lore information from the monster pages is available IC.)

Dining Hall: This time around the gas station and garage are empty of supplies… But there’s plenty of preserved foods in the castle kitchen and dining hall. Though the hot dishes are almost painfully spicy, and the cold served foods can almost freeze a mouth shut.

Snow Fields: Surrounding the fortress are fields of snow, ready to bog down anyone who wanders too far into them. It would be next to impossible for anyone to make it far on two feet without the aid of a vehicle… Or the aid of a monstrous transformation.

Fire Snow: The storm can wildly swing between temperatures, from freezing to burning with how the snowflakes fluctuate. They can suck warmth out of a Drifter’s body on contact, or risk burning any exposed skin.

Armory: The Steel Wardens kept an armory and arena close by for sparring. Various weapons and armor are stored here; some antiquated, some modern and augmented with technology. And everything but the older models are badly damaged by the elements; frozen over and metal crackled, or half melted from fire. They won’t have much use as weapons, but could be used as metal materials.

View from the Peaks: When the storm clears, one can look out from the peaks and see what’s next. A strange, twisted landscape stretches out below the peaks. And beyond that is something on the horizon; a massive city reaching upwards, and the buildings intact and gleaming. Going back to the Convoy reveals a new update in the database: Nirvana is near. And will be reached in an estimated 60 days from now.

The brush of hunger and feral need does not hit Vincent as hard. But he's close enough to pick it up and understand its danger. This time he's free of the smoke's influence from the summit and while he's gotten to know Donnie, he's not as close either physically or emotionally as the brothers and this spiritual connection of theirs.

But does he remember how feral they all looked and think it's a good idea to approach a denvan full of teenageferal beaststurtles and their prey?

No, you see him stop right there about five yards away from the remaining parts of the corpse, and though his senses are drawn to the blood scent and warmth he can see and smell, he chooses to call out instead.

"Leo. Mikey. Raph."

He suspects that Donnie's the one that's most indisposed still. But you young men better come out here and help not your dad with getting the groceriessupplies in so help him.

Leo can feel the hunger, but it's muted because flesh and bone don't interest him at all. There's a sympathetic understanding of the hunger, the satisfaction, but it all feels distant for him. Something he used to know, and doesn't anymore.

When Mikey starts looking like he might puke, Leo reaches over to tuck him against his side instinctively.

"S'okay, Miguel," he says, averting his own eyes from Donnie's feast. "It'll go away when he's full."

Probably.

He's about to answer Raph when he hears Vincent call their names. He starts to get to his feet, possibly taking Mikey with him.

"Yeah, you can grab more while we help Vinny with whatever he brought."

Though now Donnie is so covered in blood that figuring out what's a wound and what's dinner is going to be a pain. Maybe they should drag him into the convoy and hose him down...

They might have to, considering how weak Donnie still is. Hungry as he appears, he's settled down again after pulling the stump of a leg close enough to work at between all three heads. One's torn away an end of the bone still with strings of muscle attached, gnawing at it while the other two finish cleaning off the bloody bits on the remainder.

It's tiring work eating! But at least this has taken off that sharp edge to the smoke-induced hunger. His center-most head glances after the turtles as they start to leave, whining.

Mikey leans into Leo when he gets pulled close, resting his head on his brother's shoulder as he tries to keep his tummy from completely rebelling at the things he's seeing and feeling and smelling at the moment. He gives a little shudder and swallows hard. Okay okay... you can do this, Mikey. It's important and Donnie needs you. And also to eat. And will definitely need a bath. He sits up a bit again and nods, resolutely.

"I-It's just like when we finally get a piece of pizza in his face after he's been in the Lab for three days straight. Only... more... everything... ohgosh."

He goes to follow Leo to help with the supplies but the whine from Donnie and the sudden feeling of 'being abandoned' and 'lonely' that echoes through him stops him in his tracks. He doesn't even think about it, he just reacts to how much that distresses him. He sits right back down and throws his arms around Donnie's fluffy shoulders, comfortingly.

"No no, we're not leaving you behind, Dee! There's more stuff to help you outside!" he says, petting a hand gently in Donnie's fur where it's still fluffy and not bloody. Being that close to his brother when he's eating in this new, horrible way means all Mikey can smell is the bizarre scent of monster blood and he's getting splattered with it a bit but...

He looks up at Leo, brows furrowed.

"I'll keep him calm. He might panic if he's all alone in here again."

Hearing Vincent call their names makes him glance that way - it'd make sense that the guy would go get supplies while they help Donnie out. He nods to Leo about getting Donnie another hunk of the critter outside, before the whining starts up and he recognizes that sad lonely sort of sound. Donnie doesn't want to be left alone. Not that he can blame him in the slightest given what's happened to him.

"Comin'," he says, letting Vincent at least know that they aren't ignoring him.

He does notice that Mikey's struggling a bit with the whole thing. Unsurprising, really, since the youngest is the newest of the turtles here and probably hasn't dealt with much of the ways of gross, changes, and god only knows what else. But he smiles when the brothers pile together, being close to one another to support each other.

"One of us should stick with Dee," he parrots, agreeing with the notion that Mikey's offered. With Donnie mildly distracted with chewing on the remains of his lunch, he considers the options of getting him more since Leo is helping Mikey out right now.

"I'll help Vin and get Dee another snack after since he's currently settled. Might take a trip or two but I got it covered."

And with that, he's up and opening the door, slipping out to head for Vincent and his armfuls of stuff. "Load me up, man."

While Vincent is keeping himself in check and giving the turtles in the van a chance to prove they haven't gone into a feral, territorial feeding frenzy, there are certain things which must be acknowledged when Raph exits the van first with an almost cheerful- given the circumstances- 'load me up'.

Which is just the long Look the turtle is given over the collar of the gunman's cloak that judges everything about a blood-caked teenager expecting to be given a bunch of clean laundry and medical supplies. If Vincent were being honest, the most help he needed was probably opening the van door. The rest was all caution.

Anyway he proves this. Watch as half of his cloak seems to detach and mold into a wing before the nimble 'thumb' joint plucks up a towel from the top of the pile and holds it out to Raph. The other truth is that he doesn't want to move too much closer and risk moving downwind again.

"Clean yourself up." You trying to get him to attack you or is this just how Raph greets visiting vampires? All demoned up and covered in blood sauce.
faceguy: (hey kids)

[personal profile] faceguy 2026-01-29 04:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Eugh, alright. Now they have two brothers who need a bath, stat.

Raph once again decides to do everything on his own (Leo is starting to worry about this being a pattern). He settles himself by the door so he can go either way if needed, though he stays in Donnie’s line of sight.

“Geez, what’s with the puppy dog whines, anyway?” he complains to Donnie, even though he was as affected by it as Mikey. “Usually you’re more than happy to kick all of us out.”

This actually hasn’t been true for a long time, but Leo is just trying to keep chill.
purplexing: (can we though..?)

[personal profile] purplexing 2026-01-29 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Three heads are clearly for multitasking. The other two are content to resume eating, if more slowly, but the center one is all too relieved to have Mikey's reassurances. Sorry, but it's going to be a bit more gross Miguel, because that skull head nuzzles at him before tiredly resting against him, tail raising off the ground in a half-wag before flopping.

He tilts his head enough to look over at Leo. How is it possible for a skull to look so sad? But if anything, it seems he is able to understand them, clinging to Donnie-mind for whatever it's worth. His head's just not thinking past basic things at the moment, or he'd be very sorry for making a mess of Mikey's van. ...and Mikey.

He'd probably be grateful for a bath though. Usually he'd stand in the showers forever once he'd fully come back to himself.
mystic_hands: (039)

[personal profile] mystic_hands 2026-01-30 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Being nuzzled by a skull is one of those things that Michelangelo had definitely not ever thought about. That's so far outside of 'things that happen to people' that it never once occurred to him.

It feels... surprisingly less weird than he would have expected.

It's a good sign, though! It being affectionate like that and how Donnie stays leaning on him means that he's not panicking or trying to move around or anything. That's the important part! Sure, the occasional splatter of gristle and gore against his legs is... pretty... oh gosh don't think about it, Mikey... But Donnie's staying calm! That's good!

"Is there something we should be doing to... turn him back into regular Donnie?" he asks Leo, quietly, to give himself something else to focus on as he keeps petting Donnie's fur.

"Or does it have to like... wear off on it's own? I dunno how any of this stuff works..."
saisdoesmatter: (That's A New One...)

[personal profile] saisdoesmatter 2026-01-30 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Look, there's no point in cleaning up the blood sauce until the doggo inside is properly fed - also the demon side of him doesn't really care too much about having blood sauced hands right now. He takes the offered towel and motions with his head to the dead thing he's going to rip another leg off of.

"I will; just gotta get Donnie another snack. S'no point to clean up, rip something apart, then clean up again."

Though he opens the door for the vampire, poking his head in to whistle for Leo. "Vamp dad's back with stuff if you can give him another hand while I get another leg."

He does end up giving Vincent a wide berth afterward though, knowing full well the risk but it is asinine to clean up when he's going to butcher a critter again.
coffinturk: (69)

[personal profile] coffinturk 2026-01-30 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Hm. Vincent looks at the body. While the smell's tantalizing, it's not nearly as tempting as the warm bodies if we're to be honest. Things go cold quickly in this weather. He looks at the van; Donnie in particular. The vampire himself is far calmer than either of them had been on the summit but he's in no mood to push the tired cerberus or invoke a fight or flight response.

Seeing something cautious but similarly calm in Donnie, Vincent makes his decision.

"Alright," he says to Raph, leaving the demon-turtle to the carcass and the grim task rather than volunteering to take it on himself and insisting on the cleanup and transfer of supplies. The vampire slowly steps forward.

"I brought water. Blankets." The towels of course and bandages. He will stop the moment someone insists he does, but seems to be aiming for the most clean looking of the brothers which... is probably Leo at this point.

"Take what you need. I'll put the rest up front." Out of the bloodbath.
faceguy: (through my sophomore slump)

[personal profile] faceguy 2026-01-30 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
Why did he get that sad look!? Geez... Now he feels bad enough to kneel down where he can scratch Donnie's skull head.

"I don't really know," he says to Mikey, wishing he had a better answer. "Every time I've been around him when he turned back, it was just because he... felt safe enough to be out of dog mode, I guess."

He's mostly thinking of the carnival, how they hid in the shadows until Donnie came back to himself.

"I think you're doing good," he adds, giving Mikey's shoulder a pat. "Just keep it up. He'll turn back soon."

When Raph returns, Leo hops back to his feet, immediately scrunching up his snout at that announcement.

"Vamp dad?"

But there's not much time to think it over! He's being handed things and he's quick to take them, grabbing especially for the bandages and water.

"Thanks, Vinny. We'll do what we can to fix him up."

At least he's being nicer now to the guy who sucked his brother's blood!
purplexing: (wha)

[personal profile] purplexing 2026-01-30 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
On the bright side, it looks like the other two heads have finished eating what they could of the leg, if not without some bone chunks here and there. His tail makes another attempt at wagging with Leo giving his head a scratch.

All three are suddenly at attention the moment they catch a whiff of Vincent, and Donnie is very still against Mikey as he watches the vampire approach.

Under different circumstances he would have laughed hard at Vincent's new title. Maybe he still will, later. But right now, he's on his guard, although perhaps not necessarily because he might see Vincent as a threat.

When Donnie stills like that, the tension rippling and freezing under Mikey's hands, the box turtle curls his arms around Donnie's currently fluffy necks and shoulders a little more. He pets through the thick fur and tries his best to keep that warm and calm feeling going from earlier. There's concern in there, because of course there is, but no fear. He's just worried about Donnie!

"We're gonna get you all fixed up and stuff, Dee. Vincent's helping, I promise. He brought you back to us so we could take care of you."

Mikey knows a lot of really scary and hurtful things have been happening but the orange turtle is of the mind that if Vincent was really a danger, he wouldn't have brought Donnie back. And he wouldn't have helped him at the fortress. And he wouldn't be helping now.

"I wish I had all the stuff to make my lasagna." he says to Leo, "I bet that'd help make him feel better."
saisdoesmatter: (Up To No Good)

[personal profile] saisdoesmatter 2026-01-31 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Being in demon-guard-turtle set about with tasks, he gets the towel offered, takes it and swings it over a shoulder before he watches as Vincent considers the dead critter before moving on. Tempting a vampire with more blood wasn't smart, obviously, but it's not like he has much to work with given what's going on with Donnie right now. Raph himself will have to clean up after the work is done.

He smirks when Leo questions him about the nickname. "Older dude. Clearly a vamp based on mannerisms and experience. Helping us out and ownin' up to what happened? Vamp dad." Total logic there. After all, he's dealt with this before.

He leaves it at that as he ducks out again to do the dirty work of yanking another limb off of the dead thing by his bike, but if it will help Donnie recover, he'll do it. It becomes easier to do with the tempered strength and glowy veins adding to his work as he manages to snag it and twist the joint free. The blood's not splurting as much given the cold, but he makes sure to get the Donnie snacc without protest as it should still be satisfactory for food and energy regeneration.

He makes sure to give people space as he brings the second leg in, smiling a little as Mikey is hugging Donnie to comfort the big doggo before setting the snack down where Donnie can get it.

"I might have to get another one if it's gone too cold," he says, pulling the towel down from his shoulder to start cleaning his hands. "Hopefully this is good enough."

Though it's not Donnie he responds to first, Vincent keeps his movements even and without any sudden, sharp gestures. For a moment the crimson and blue gaze- far from the earlier intensity of the moment he lost control- rests on the cerberus and there are creases in the corner that convey remorse. But it's subtle and then the gunman glances away to deal with all the other conversation flying around.

He has one thing to say about his new title.

"Hrmph." The snort sounds cynical. Dry. "I don't recall raising a group of rowdy sahagin kids." And they're way too young! He was sleeping! Where's the paternity test!

There's nothing said about the vampire thing. He's done gone and admitted to that much as it is. It's also part of the joke. Which... yeah. He cracked one. Once Leo has grabbed what he needs- one of those containers is definitely holding hot water, be careful when using!- Vincent shifts back enough to open van's cab door to set all the other items down. They'll certainly come in handy once the back and the boys are cleaned up.

He turns to face the group again.

"I need to go." There's probably a lot of good guesses why. And now, finally Donnie.

"Didn't mean for it to happen this way." And yet it did. The tone implies Vincent is not denying anything. "I'll be back when you're more yourself." Settled, turtle-shaped.

Jokes aside, Vincent considers himself as just an outsider to this family bond. But he'll be back to properly apologize. He begins to turn away from the van. The rest of his cloak ripples in a metamorphic, fluid transition; the red bleeding way into the black of a wing matching the one he'd used earlier to pass Raph a towel.

Leo looks at Donnie's current meal and grimaces in Mikey's direction. "Maybe if you made it a roadkill lasagna."

But he gets what Mikey means. Maybe one day they'll find all the ingredients to make it. It's not all that different from pizza in terms of what they need...

Raph's explanation just gets a snort of amusement from Leo. Fine, fine, Vamp Dad. Why not?

And at least Vincent apologizes to Donnie. Leo watches carefully to make sure his dog-brother isn't about to attack, in case he needs to step in and prevent a mauling.

"Thanks again," he says to Vincent, not the one to stop the man from leaving now. The normal part of his brain is satisfied with Vincent's apologies and actions, but the part of his brain possessed by a territorial ice wolf is still mad about the whole thing.
purplexing: (myeh)

Canyon settlement.

It probably won't make much sense to his brothers, but Vincent might well know what he means. Go figure his first coherent thought is to poke fun at Vamp Dad. But at least it's a good sign?

Donnie relaxes against Mikey again, nudging him with a slightly red skull. One of the other heads looks towards Raph as his second helping is served. Only then does he try to move again, shakily getting to his feet so he can be in better position to feed. He tries gnawing at it before pulling his head back with a snort, ears flattening. Maybe the thing did get a bit on the frosty side, sitting out there.

Instead of complain, the Cerberus sniffs at it before the central head opens his jaws and throws a short jet of purple flames at the chilled leg. ...okay maybe that was too much effort too soon, because he sways a bit and settles back onto the floor, but it's not enough to dissuade him from pulling the charred stump of leg so he can gnaw on it.

Barbecue!

Mikey's snout crinkles up, hard, when Leo makes the quip and he sticks his tongue out with an 'ewwwwwww' sound. Has... Mikey's tongue always been kind of blue and forked at the tip..? Hmm...

He's trying not to pay too much attention to what Raph brings into the van, turning instead to Vincent who's talking about leaving. He's about to protest that fact when his brain catches up a little bit, too. So he stops and changes course with it, instead.

"If you need anything, later, we can help you out too, remember! Thanks for bringing Dee back." All said very earnestly. He's still watching the man, fascinated by the way his cloak is morphing and changing like that. Woaaaaaaah... that's cool!!

The sudden burst of FIRE on the other side of him startles him. Hard. He lets out a yelp and scrambles back a little bit, staring with wide eyes.

"Wh-What the...?!" he squeaks and then frowns, hard, "Donnie!! Not inside my van! You're gonna set everything on fire!"

Then he stops and blinks some more.

"... did... did that come out of his face?! I mean, one of his faces?!"

Still cleaning up his hands and arms, Raph chuckles at Vincent's joke. "Sorry, man, that's usually how it happens with our families." After all, their actual father (from both worlds) essentially had the same thing happen to him - just in different ways.

But considering that Vincent is attempting to leave (he totally gets it, there's blood everywhere) - he makes sure to address him as well. Especially after there's a clear attempt at some sort of joke between him and Donnie that makes him smile.

"If you need anything, just holler." He mainly means himself but with the rest of the crew? It will probably be all of them. Clan? Pack? Whatever it's the same damn thing. "We might be congregating to pile on Donnie and probably figure out why Mikey's turning blue, but the offer stands."

The peal of FIRE makes him jerk, especially since he just gave doggo Don the leg before he's doing the same thing as Mikey. "Dude, I coulda handled that OUTSIDE, you dork!" but he's laughing as the cerberus sways. "You ain't one hundred percent yet, Dee, c'mon man be careful."

Not only one apology, Leo, but sounds like he'll come back for another round. Even one is pretty rare from the former Turk. Well, not that it's known. Paternal claims or not, seems he's got a soft spot for these lads.

When Donnie's telepathic reminder brushes against Vincent, the wings ripple in a way that is a cross between pausing their spread and agitation at the reminder. That is to say, not so much anger as embarrassment.

You got him good with that one. He casts a dour look at the cerberus over his shoulder and makes a grumbling sound in his throat. That shouldn't count!

"How'd one become four?" might be heard as a mutter, depending on the acuteness of hearing. It wasn't completely under his breath after all. But then he continues with his arrested takeoff.

He really does need to eat. But first, gotta go get his gun.

He doesn’t know exactly what Donnie is referring to, but he knows it embarrassed Vincent, so it gets a laugh out of him.

“What do you mean?” he asks Raph, reaching over to tossle Mikey’s head as if he had hair. “He’s turning into a komodo dragon.”

And… whoa, yep. Donnie can just breathe fire now. His brothers seem to have that scolding covered, so he’ll just chuckle at the reaction.

Donnie doesn't seem the least bit remorseful about nearly torching Mikey's van. He might scour the floor later if he's scorched it, but right now, the only thing he's really focused on is eating again. But hey! At least lightly charred meat is a little less messy than raw.

...just a bit.

There might be a bit of amusement from him as he catches Vincent's muttering in departure. No denying it, Vamp Dad. You're a big softy under the emo exterior.

Only two heads are partaking of mealtime, the rightmost one looking between his brothers now that he's a bit more coherent. Raph and Leo might be familiar with the trend; Donnie usually has one of his heads keep aware of his surroundings, the middle head calling the shots, and the last satiating curiosity.

Yet woozy and still hurting whenever he shifts a certain way, at the very least he's calmer, safe, and those feelings radiate through his swarm telepathy.

Mikey gives a little squawk when Leo ruffles the top of his head like that.

"H-Hey! I'm not turning blue!" he protests and then pauses, "... w-well not all of me anyways... I'm only a little bit blue!"

He does flex one of his hands a little, where it's laying in Donnie's fur. He's still not used to how different they look, now. He's at least making sure to be careful with the sharp little claws he seems to have now.

"I think we should be more worried about Donnie anyways! Can all three heads breathe fire? Is that new? Man, these monster change things are rough! How am I gonna keep track!"

Even as he's saying it, though, he leans his head against one of Donnie's shoulders, not even looking to see if it's part of the messy fur. He's already covered in... stuff... and gonna need a shower soooooo... He's glad that he can feel how his brother is doing better.

The question that Leo slings his way makes him blink his black sclera'd eyes at the slider. "Dee's not the only one who can produce fire now." As if that explains everything.

The fact that one head of Donnie's is watching while the others are eating isn't surprising, given how he was with the cerberus turtle before in the crazy carnival, so he doesn't mention it. Leo saying that Mikey is turning into a dragon thing though makes his brows go up.

"Huh. So you're going extra scaley, huh little bro? That happen recently then?"

He considers it and hmms a little, trying to remember if Donnie did fire stuff when they were together at the carnival. He can't recall. "I think he could do that before. Granted the pupper thing is still new-ish from bird mode but considering mythological stuff regarding three headed dogs, fire is likely."
